In 1909, the Ontario provincial government set aside 1,148,000 acres of beautiful, isolated wilderness. That land became Quetico Provincial Park. The Quetico Foundation began in 1954, and has supported the park ever since with advocacy, research, and education.
In the last fifty years, we’ve collaborated with government officials, park managers, forestry and mining industry officials, local citizens’ groups and the Lac La Croix First Nation. We’ve also launched new projects – from educating youth to ecological research. However, our original mission has stayed the same: to ensure the sustainability of the forests and the integrity of the wilderness.
The Quetico Foundation is a registered Canadian charity. Donate »
